Top 10 Funniest Animated Features

This is my current top 10 (subject to change over time!) of animated films that are great particularly because they’re hilarious. These stand strong beside any regular (non-animated) comedy movie! Of course they do – I tend to agree with the likes of Brad Bird when they say they hate the genre of “animated” such and such. Why must they be othered like that. That’s right up there (in terms of dumbness) with the thought that animated movies are kids’ movies. Anyway😊 Here’s my list! (unnumbered because I can’t possibly rank them). If you read my list and think hey, why don’t they have this one, I would love to hear from you!

Storks (2016)

Did you see this one? Seemed pretty low key when it came out. Favourite things? The wolves turning into transport; pigeon Toby talking about the game last night, bruh; our main stork guy hitting every glass pane there was!

Hotel Transylvania (2012)

This movie does not waste any moment to be silly! I love it. And I’ll put Hotel Transylvania 3 here as an honourable mention cos it is just as jam-packed with silliness.

Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)

Can’t be a comedy list with an Aardman film. It’s the hilarious horror puns that make this one a must.

Robin Hood (1971)

The runaway tent antics, Prince John any time he’s on screen, need I say more?! “Forgive me a cruel chuckle”

Megamind (2010)

Most of the comedy is down to Megamind’s unique way of talking – so many quotables! I still say “oh-lo” when I answer the phone! Also important to mention space dad and space step-mom:-D

Aladdin (1992)

Of course Aladdin! Robin Williams is joy.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)

The mayor getting more and more creepy/unhinged; and the dad trying to send a file to save the day!

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

Shave and a haircut… TWO BITS!

A Bug’s Life (1998)

Oh the farce of it all!! Genius. “I’ve been scouting for bugs with your exact talent” (“ooh, a talent scout”)… “when your grasshopper friends get here – we are gonna knock! them! dead!”

The Emperor’s New Groove (2000)

All of Yzma’s lines.. and “yay, I’m a llama again😊”
